Welcome & Why the Name

Well, hey there. Welcome to this latest blog -- which will be chock full of hilarity and randomness involving me (who you'll come to know as Eowyn) and some my friends -- namely Larz, Sven, and Hela.

The first tale has to do with the name of this blog, "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and why it was dubbed such.

Y'all know the song by Cyndi Lauper. However, there's another version that was put on by "Glee" and performed by the late Cory Monteith. It's a far more somber version of the song, but still beautiful.

One of my guy friends, who we'll call "Larz" (and I'll need to remember that...) to keep some kind of anonymity, has a tendency to sleep walk... and sleep drive (that's another story to come) and apparently sleep download.

What the hell is "sleep download" you may ask? I'd never heard of it either until Larz walked into work one day and shared this tale...

He had gone to sleep the night before and this time didn't sleep walk down his driveway nor sleep drive to Cumby's for a hot dog. Nope. Instead, he stayed in bed, but woke up the next morning to find that at some point during the night he had -- while sleeping:

* Sat up
* Grabbed his phone
* Unlocked his phone
* Searched for "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" on iTunes
* Found the "Glee" version of the song
* Paid to download the song
* Laid back down

So, Larz didn't just want the Cyndi Lauper upbeat version of the song, no... He wanted to download the slightly sadder version sung by the now dead dude. Alrighty.
